Most organizations invest significant time and effort in assessments. These efforts often surface accurate insights, confirm long‑held suspicions, and generate thoughtful discussion. Yet once the assessment concludes, execution typically resumes unchanged.
The problem is rarely insight quality. The problem is that assessments are treated as informational events rather than mechanisms for improving the system that produces execution.
From a systems perspective, insight has value only if it increases the organization’s ability to execute predictably without heroics, escalation, or ongoing management intervention. When assessments fail to change execution, it is not because people ignored them - it is because leadership did not redesign the system those people work within.
